Facebook and Instagram ads for a pet grooming business
Grooming is one of the few trades where the creative sells itself. Before and after is the entire ad. A matted spaniel on the left, the same dog fluffed at the counter on the right, shot on the table in the same light. That format beats anything a designer produces.
Vertical video does even better. Fifteen seconds of a dryer, a nail grind, the reveal when the owner walks in. Dog owners watch these because they are looking at their own dog's next appointment. Budget $10 to $20 a day for prospecting inside a five to eight mile radius, plus $5 a day retargeting site visitors and video watchers. Cost per booked new client usually falls between $25 and $60, generally cheaper than search.
The mistake is the free groom giveaway. It fills the comments with people who will never pay $85 and costs you a Saturday slot you cannot refill. Offer a first-visit nail trim or a de-shed add-on instead.
Two weeks in, working means new clients naming an ad at drop-off and a retargeting audience large enough to run against in month two. The Facebook and Instagram guide covers the creative rules.
